Junior cricket
SAFE, FRIENDLY & FUN
We offer a safe & friendly environment for all children to play sport.
Cheadle Cricket prides itself on its junior section with a long, proud history of Cheadle juniors going on to representant the club at senior level. In fact, over the past 3 seasons over 80% of the Cheadle 1st XI represented the club at a junior age group!
The club has teams from U9s to U19s and encourages junior players of all abilities, both boys and girls, to come down and get involved. Junior training, coaching and competitive fixtures are available to our junior members, as well as a fantastic social atmosphere in and around the club house during training sessions and on game days for parents, guardians, siblings and more.
Please come and visit us down at the cricket club soon, or alternatively feel free to contact the cricket committee at cheadlecricketclub@gmail.com.
COACHING
Each team has at least one qualified coach and a Team Manager. We are always on the lookout for new talent and we encourage both boys and girls to take up the game.
As long as they wear comfortable sports shoes, without spikes, we supply bats, balls, gloves, pads etc. Those children who play under 11 and older cricket will be using a hard ball so each should have their own abdominal protector for when they are batting.

INDoor & Outdoor
We operate indoor coaching and nets from January at Parrs Wood Sports Centre on Sunday afternoons. These sessions will run to April when we switch to outdoor coaching and nets at the Club. Don’t worry if your child does not have any equipment for coaching sessions, we have bags of it!!

friendly matches
We organise friendly matches for those children under 9 years of age and have representative teams in the Cheshire County and South Manchester leagues for the older children. Several of our juniors in the recent past have been good enough for us to promote them for Advanced and Centre of Excellence coaching with Cheshire in the winter. This has resulted in a number of them playing for the county. We are also incredibly proud of the number of our junior cricketers who have gone on to represent the club at senior level. Many of the current 1st XI and 2nd XI played junior cricket at Cheadle!
safety
We operate strictly within the ECB guidelines for Child Protection, so you can be assured that your child will get the best level of attention whilst in our care.

It's never
too late
We can also arrange more personalised one on one coaching for your child if you are interested. We run a Cricket Junior’s Committee and are planning to run several social events in the coming year to raise funds for further cricket training equipment – the key one being our beer festival (usually in May). So, if your child would like an introduction to cricket in a safe, secure and fun environment, please feel free to contact us at the email address below to find out more. Everyone is welcome irrespective of age and experience, it is never too late to take up the game.
